Bahler Studios
A small creative studio in Central Illinois focused on handcrafted woodworking, photography, and art.
Creativity and making things have been part of my life from an early age, but for many years art largely took a back seat to the demands of everyday life. Woodworking eventually became an unexpected way back to that creative side—combining design, craftsmanship, and the satisfaction of transforming a natural material into something both useful and beautiful. Bahler Studios grew from that return to making.
I particularly enjoy working with natural materials and allowing the character of the wood to influence the finished piece. Rather than producing identical products in volume, much of my work is made individually or in small numbers, with differences in grain, color, and construction making each piece unique.

There is also something compelling to me about the history contained within the material itself. A tree is shaped over decades by its environment, and those years remain visible in its grain, color, knots, and imperfections. Woodworking offers an opportunity to preserve some of that character while giving the material a new purpose.
The name Bahler Studios is intentionally broader than woodworking. Photography has long been another creative interest of mine, and the studio gives me room to pursue woodworking, photography, and other forms of art under one name.
Bahler Studios was established in 2025 and is based in Central Illinois.
